Project Veer Gatha 5.0 Registrations Open Now

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Ministry of Education (MoE) invite schools and students to register for Project Veer Gatha 5.0, a nationwide storytelling and creative-expression initiative that honours India’s gallantry award winners. Launched in 2021, Veer Gatha uses art, literature and digital media to connect students with real stories of bravery, sacrifice and service. The registration deadline is October 15, 2025.

What is Project Veer Gatha 5.0?

Project Veer Gatha encourages students from Classes 3 to 12 to research gallantry awardees and produce creative entries — poems, essays, paintings, drawings or multimedia presentations. Schools shortlist best entries at the institutional level and upload them on the MyGov portal after school-level evaluation. This year’s edition expands virtual and in-person interactions with gallantry award winners and promotes a “Veer Gatha Corner” in schools to showcase student work.

Veer Gatha Corner & Learning Impact

Schools are encouraged to set up a Veer Gatha Corner — a dedicated space to exhibit gallantry awardee profiles and student creations. The corner fosters patriotism, civic consciousness, and creative skills while keeping the heroes’ stories alive for future generations.

Project Veer Gatha builds research skills, creative expression, and values of duty and courage. It offers students a chance to win national recognition, cash prizes, and the pride of preserving India’s military heritage through art and storytelling.
