Kinetic Watts & Volts, the electric vehicle division of Kinetic Engineering, has made a striking return to the Indian EV market with the unveiling of its much-awaited electric scooter—the Kinetic DX EV. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Kinetic Honda DX of the 90s, the newly launched electric version blends nostalgic design cues with cutting-edge features and technology, setting a new benchmark for modern electric mobility.
The Kinetic DX EV is offered in two variants—DX and DX+, priced at ₹1.12 lakh and ₹1.18 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Pre-bookings are open on the company’s official website for a nominal amount of ₹1,000, with deliveries scheduled to begin in September 2025. The first production batch is capped at 35,000 units, ensuring exclusivity for early adopters.
Color choices for the DX+ include vibrant Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black, while the DX is available in classic Silver and Black.
Both models are powered by a 2.6 kWh LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) battery, which promises an IDC-certified range of 116 km for the DX+ and 102 km for the DX. These are supported by a 4.8 kW hub-mounted BLDC motor, allowing the DX+ to reach 90 kmph, while the DX tops out at 80 kmph. The battery is built to endure up to 3,500 charging cycles.
For everyday usability, the scooter includes three riding modes—Range, Power, and Turbo—along with features like reverse assist and hill hold. A standout convenience factor is the 37-litre underseat storage, ideal for urban commuting.
In terms of comfort and safety, both variants offer telescopic front suspension, adjustable rear suspension, and 220mm front disc brakes with CBS (Combined Braking System). Rider-friendly additions such as cruise control, Kinetic Assist switch, Easy Flip pillion footrest, and Bluetooth music with voice navigation enhance the premium experience. The keyless ignition system is complemented by a large 8.8-inch digital display with an inbuilt speaker.
The DX+ variant goes a step further with My Kiney Companion, offering connected tech like real-time tracking, geofencing, ride analytics, and intruder alerts, as well as a patented Easy Charge retractable cable and voice alerts.
Kinetic’s bold re-entry with the DX EV redefines its legacy—merging classic design with futuristic capabilities to meet the growing demand for electric mobility in India.
