This initiative is designed to empower bright young minds from economically disadvantaged families by supporting their aspirations of pursuing higher education at India’s premier engineering institutes—the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
This scholarship aims to ease the financial burden on meritorious students and provide them with a platform to pursue excellence in science and technology. Selected students will receive financial assistance of INR 70,250 per year for four years, helping to cover their tuition fees throughout the duration of their B.E./B.Tech. programs.
Eligibility Criteria
The Ratti Chhatr Scholarship is exclusively open to first-year students enrolled in B.E./B.Tech. courses at any IIT across India for the academic year 2025–26. To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Cleared Class 12 (2023–24) with more than 75% marks.
- Must have cleared the IIT entrance examination and secured admission into the first year of B.E./B.Tech.
- Belong to a family with an annual income of INR 8,00,000 or less from all sources.
- Must not be a child of employees of Panasonic or Buddy4Study.
- Must possess both an admission letter and first-semester fee receipt at the time of application.
- Preference will be given to candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category.
Scholarship Benefits
Each selected candidate will be granted INR 70,250 annually, which will continue for a period of four years, provided they maintain their enrollment and satisfactory academic performance at the IIT. The amount is intended to offset tuition fees and partially support other academic expenses.

To complete the application process, candidates need to upload the following documents:
- Class 12 mark sheet (2023–24)
- Government-issued identity proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, driving license, or PAN card)
- Admission letter from the respective IIT
- First-semester fee receipt
- Bank account details of the applicant
- Income proof (Form 16A, income certificate from a government authority, or salary slips)
- Recent passport-size photograph
