The National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) has officially commenced the registration process for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 from today. This national-level law entrance examination is the gateway for admission to NLU Delhi’s prestigious five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programmes. Eligible candidates can now apply through the university’s official website before the deadline of November 10, 2025.
The AILET 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on December 14, 2025 (Sunday), in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across various exam centres in India. The admit cards for the entrance test are expected to be released on December 1, 2025.
AILET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
For candidates aspiring to join the BA LLB (Hons) programme, the basic eligibility requirement is a Class 12 certificate with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks. However, candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories are eligible with 40% marks in Class 12. For Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, the eligibility criteria remain 45%.
Foreign nationals applying for the BA LLB course will be selected based on their performance in the AILET 2026 exam, rather than separate admission criteria. Candidates applying for LLM and PhD programmes must meet respective academic eligibility requirements specified by the university on its official portal.
AILET 2026 Application Process and Fee
To apply for AILET 2026, eligible candidates must first register online and create login credentials. Post-registration, applicants should log into the AILET candidate portal, fill in the necessary personal, academic, and contact details, upload the required documents, and submit the application fee.
The application fee structure is as follows:
- General, OBC, EWS, and Foreign Nationals: ₹3,000
- SC, ST, PwD categories: ₹1,000
- SC/ST women applicants: Exempted from application fee
It is mandatory for candidates to upload all documents as per the specifications mentioned in the application portal. Incomplete or incorrect applications may be rejected without refund.
