For all the occupation or business, there is fixed income or known income. But in agriculture, farmers can’t get their pre expected income. But still agriculture plays a indispensible role in the Indian economy.

Over 70% of the rural households depend on agriculture. Agriculture is an important sector of Indian economy as it hands out about 17% to the total GDP of nation. That is the maximum of all. But still, a farmer is deprived of every luxury of society. Agriculture provides employment to 60% of the total population.

If country is body, then to support the whole body backbone is crucial. Likewise agriculture and farmers are the backbone of any nation. They are the ones who gives us all the food that we eat.

As a result the entire population of the country depends upon farmers, no matter whether it is smallest or the largest country. Because of them only we are able to live on the planet. Thus Farmers are the most important mankind in the world. Though farmers have so much importance in society but still they do not have proper life support from government and society.

HISTORY

Every Year National Farmers Day is celebrated on 23rd December. It was decided by the government of India to celebrate Farmers Day in 2001. It is considered that ‘Zamindari Abolition Bill-1952’ was passed because of Chaudhary Charan Singh’s hard work.

He was the Prime Minister of India from 28th July 1979 to 14th January 1980. He is familiarly known as the leader of Indian Farmers. Chaudhary Charan Singh was born on 23rd December 1902 in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.

He considered caste based system is root of slavery and they said that there cannot be equality, prosperity, and security in the nation until the caste system abolished. He formulated several policies to refine the condition of farmers during his incumbency.

Chaudhary Charan Singh became the first non-congress chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and became Prime Minister in 1979. He has written many books such as the Abolition of Zamindari, India’s Poverty and Its Solutions and the Legend Proprietorship.

In 1979, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was declared Chaudhry Singh as Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. On 28th July 1979, Chaudhary Charan Singh became the Prime Minister of the country with the support of various political parties. Chaudhary Charan Singh passed away on 29th May 1987. His memorial is located in New Delhi and known as Kisan Ghat.

Conditions of farmers in India

The condition of farmers in India is very critical. Daily we are hearing suicide news of farmers. Moreover, farmers are all living a difficult life from past years.

The problem is that they are not getting enough income. Since the middlemen get most of the money, so a farmer gets nothing in hand. Furthermore, farmers are not having enough money to send their kids to school. Sometimes the situation gets too bad that they will not get proper food. Thus farmers go in famine. As a result, they attempt suicides.

Furthermore, the other reason for the worst condition of farmers is global warming. Since global warming is hampering our planet in each means, and it affecting our farmers too. Due to heating, there’s a delay in season. As totally different crops have their own season to ripe, they’re not obtaining nourishment. Crops need good daylight and rain to grow.

Thus if the crops aren’t obtaining it then they will destroys. This is often one in all the most reasons why farms have gotten destroyed. As a result, farmers die.

In order to save lots of farmers, our Government must attempt to produce them with various privileges. Recently the government has exempted them from all the loans. Moreover, the government pays associate in nursing annual pension of Rs. 6000 to them. This helps them to a minimum of have some earning aside from their profession.

What is more, the government provides quotas (reservations) to their youngsters. This ensures that their youngsters get a correct education. All the kids ought to get a correct education in today’s world. So that they get a chance to live a better life.

At last, farming may be a profession that arduous labor and energy. Furthermore seeing the growing population of our country we must always take initiatives to assist farmers of our country.
