The mathematics subject experts, has released the Maths Bridge Course 2025–26 resources for Classes 8, 9, and 10. These resources are part of the state’s academic support strategy to address learning gaps and ensure that students are well-prepared to meet grade-level competencies in mathematics.
KEY RESOURCES RELEASED
The newly released Maths Bridge Course resources include:
Bridge Course Modules: Designed to reinforce foundational mathematical concepts, these modules aim to bridge the learning gap created due to disruptions in academic continuity. They cover core areas like number systems, algebra, geometry, and statistics tailored to the academic level of each class.
Detailed Lesson Plans: Subject experts have prepared structured lesson plans that guide teachers through the effective delivery of bridge course content. Each lesson plan includes clear objectives, teaching strategies, activities, learning outcomes, and assessment methods to enhance classroom engagement and understanding.
Program of Work (PoW): The Program of Work outlines the timeline for the delivery of bridge course lessons. It helps teachers manage time efficiently and ensure that all planned topics are covered within the stipulated period. The PoW aligns with the state syllabus and ensures balanced coverage of all key mathematical areas.
PURPOSE OF THE BRIDGE COURSE
The Mathematics Bridge Course is intended to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities at the beginning of the academic year. It supports students in transitioning smoothly into the regular syllabus and helps in building confidence, especially for those who need reinforcement in core concepts.
IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING
School heads and Block Education Officers (BEOs) have been directed to ensure effective implementation of the bridge course. Teachers are encouraged to use diagnostic assessments to identify student learning levels and to apply remedial strategies accordingly. Continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms will be used to evaluate the success of the program.
The launch of the Mathematics Bridge Course, complete with lesson plans and a program of work, reflects Karnataka’s proactive approach in strengthening mathematics education. These resources will not only assist teachers in structured delivery but also empower students to overcome learning gaps and succeed in the academic year 2025–26.
