The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has announced the IndiaAI FutureSkills Fellowship 2025, a prestigious program aimed at nurturing the next generation of experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application, empowering students to contribute to India’s AI innovation ecosystem. About MeitY and the Fellowship

The IndiaAI FutureSkills Fellowship 2025 supports undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students working on AI/ML-related projects. Selected fellows will receive training, resources, and mentorship to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.
Additionally, students who get their research papers accepted at international AI conferences with an h5 rating above 100 will be eligible for one-time financial assistance of up to ₹1,00,000 for travel and accommodation.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to UG, PG, and PhD students from recognized institutes across India, with eligibility criteria as follows:
- Undergraduate (UG) Students: Final-year students who have completed at least three AI-related courses and achieved a minimum of 80% marks (or equivalent) until the last semester.
- Postgraduate (PG) Students: Students in 1st to 3rd semester with 80% or more in UG and 75% or above in their PG program (for later semesters).
- PhD Candidates: Full-time students in AI-related programs at IndiaAI partner institutions who meet required CGPA/CPI benchmarks and are not already receiving another fellowship.
The fellowship prioritizes candidates with strong academic records, AI/ML project experience, and innovative research ideas. Applicants actively engaged in presenting their work at reputed conferences will have an advantage.
