Objective of the Scheme
The main objective of the Devnarayan Chhatra Scooty Vitaran & Protsahan Rashi Yojana is to encourage girls belonging to the five most backward classes of Rajasthan to continue their higher education and reduce school dropout rates due to transportation or financial barriers. By providing scooties and monetary assistance, the government aims to promote educational equality and women’s empowerment in the state.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Devnarayan Scooty and Scholarship Scheme 2025–26, applicants must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be a native resident of Rajasthan.
- Must belong to one of the following Most Backward Classes (MBC): Gurjar, Banjara, Baldiya, Labana, Gadia Lohar, Gadoliya, Raika, Rebari (Debasi/Dewasi), Gadriya, Gadri, or Gayri.
- The applicant’s annual family income must be less than ₹2,50,000.
- There should be no gap year between Class 12 and the first year of graduation or between graduation and the first year of post-graduation.
- The applicant should not be receiving benefits from any other government scholarship or financial assistance scheme.
BENEFITS OF THE SCHEME
The Devnarayan Chhatra Scooty Yojana 2025–26 offers two categories of benefits:
- Free Scooty Distribution
The first 1,500 eligible female students enrolled in a government college or state-funded university in the first year of a bachelor’s degree who have scored 50% or more marks in Class 12 will receive:
- A free scooty.
- One year of insurance coverage.
- Two liters of petrol (one-time).
- Transportation costs for delivering the scooty to the student.
- Financial Incentives
Female students who meet the eligibility criteria but do not qualify for the scooty will receive:
- ₹10,000 annually for each of the first, second, and third years of a bachelor’s degree program.
- ₹20,000 annually for the first year of a master’s degree.
- An additional ₹20,000 for the second year of a master’s degree, provided the student scores 50% or more marks in the first year.
Documents Required
Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents:
- Fee deposit receipt for admission to a government college or state-funded university.
- Previous year’s exam mark sheet.
- Domicile certificate.
- Special backward class caste certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Annual income certificate (not older than six months).
- Bank passbook copy with a clear IFSC code.
- Aadhaar card and Jan Aadhaar card.
- Affidavit stating that the student is not receiving any other scholarship benefits.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected strictly based on eligibility, academic performance, and compliance with the prescribed documentation. The Department of College Education will verify all applications before granting approval.
