The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially revised the syllabus for several subjects in Classes 11 and 12, bringing significant academic changes for students appearing in the upcoming Indian School Certificate (ISC) 2025 examinations. The revised syllabi, along with the detailed scope of each subject, have been made available for the students, teachers For Class 12 (ISC) students preparing for the 2025 board exams, the Council has introduced syllabus modifications in major subjects including: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Commerce, Accounts, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Legal Studies These revisions aim to update the curriculum to better align with current academic and industry standards, as well as to enhance conceptual clarity and interdisciplinary learning. The Council clarified that the syllabus for the remaining Class 12 subjects remains unchanged and will continue as per the previous academic guidelines. Schools and students are advised to refer to the updated syllabus for accurate information while planning their academic sessions and preparing for the board examinations. Meanwhile, for Class 11 students of the 2024-25 academic year, syllabus changes have been introduced in only four subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History The changes at the Class 11 level are likely intended to ensure a smooth academic transition to the revised Class 12 curriculum in the subsequent year. The CISCE’s move is seen as part of a broader effort to continuously evolve and modernize school education by integrating relevant academic advancements and reducing content overload. These revisions are expected to benefit students by providing a more structured, updated, and coherent learning experience. Students, teachers, and institutions are encouraged to download and review the revised syllabi promptly to ensure alignment with the new academic framework and prepare effectively for the academic year ahead.
