The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has officially announced the July 2025 session of its Technical Internship Scheme under the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). This prestigious internship program is aimed at offering real-world exposure to students in various Information Technology (IT) domains, in alignment with India’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
Held bi-annually in January and July, the internship provides selected candidates an opportunity to work on live e-governance projects for a duration of six months, with no provision for extension. The program offers a monthly stipend of ₹20,000, subject to satisfactory performance and attendance, certified by a designated mentor.
ELIGIBILITY
- Engineering Graduates and Postgraduates or equivalent, with at least 75% marks in their qualifying degree.
- Students who have passed their degrees in 2024, 2025, and final-year students graduating in 2026.
The last date to apply for the July 2025 session is June 15, 2025. Interested applicants must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and submit their applications before the deadline.
Interns will be shortlisted based on academic performance and relevant certifications. Final selections will be made through interviews or evaluation by an internal selection committee, depending on the NeGD’s requirements. Preference will be given to students who have completed certification courses in relevant technical fields.
The internship is structured to enhance technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Interns will work alongside seasoned professionals and contribute to national-level digital governance initiatives, gaining hands-on experience and professional growth.
Upon successful completion, interns will receive a certificate from NeGD, provided they maintain regular attendance and achieve satisfactory performance as assessed by their mentors.
