The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has officially opened applications for the prestigious National Award for Excellence in Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Development 2025. This award aims to recognize and honor outstanding contributions of trainers, faculty members, and master trainers across India who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation, and results in vocational training and entrepreneurship development.
OBJECTIVE OF THE AWARD
The National Award celebrates exemplary professionals in both long-term and short-term skill development sectors, as well as those who have made significant strides in entrepreneurship education. These awards are intended to set benchmarks and inspire excellence within the training ecosystem, recognizing individuals who have made a lasting impact on learners, institutions, and the broader skilling landscape.
CATEGORIES AND ELIGIBILITY
The awards are presented across five distinct categories:
Category I & III: Best Skill Trainers and Master Trainers – Long-Term Training
Eligible to regular trainers of ITIs and master trainers from NSTIs/IToTs with:
- Minimum five years full-time experience in CTS/CITS.
- Regular engagement as trainers.
- Age not exceeding 55 years as of the application deadline.
- Not awarded in previous years under Kaushalacharya or similar national awards.
Category II & IV: Best Skill Trainers and Master Trainers – Short-Term Training
Open to trainers in short-term skilling, certified by Skill India Digital Hub or authorized awarding bodies:
- Must be actively delivering training programs.
- Certified up to at least October 2025.
- Regular trainers under age 55.
- Must not have received similar awards previously.
Category V: Excellence in Entrepreneurship Development
Targeted at faculty engaged in entrepreneurship education in recognized institutions (UGC/AICTE or Government):
- Minimum of five years full-time experience.
- Must be a regular faculty member or program implementer.
- Age limit: below 55 years.
- Not previously awarded under this or Kaushalacharya Award.
AWARD DETAILS
Each of the 16 national awardees will receive:
- A prestigious Medal.
- A Certificate of Excellence.
- A Cash Prize of ₹50,000.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Nominations can be submitted through:
- Self-nomination, or
- Recommendation by peers, including the Jury/Search Committee members.
A rigorous two-stage selection process will be followed:
- Search-cum-Screening Committee for preliminary evaluation.
- Final Jury Committee for selecting awardees.
AWARD CEREMONY
The award ceremony will take place on September 5, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in conjunction with National Teachers’ Day celebrations.
