The Karnataka State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai presented the Karnataka State Budget for the financial year 2022 – 23, This was Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.s second budget and his Government’s last one before the assembly elections, He added this is the first time after the COVID 19 pandemic hit that the Karnataka state has reported revenue receipts more than revenue expenditure, he termed this year’s budget a revenue surplus

Complete fee exemption for students of Government Pre-University College and Government Degree College benefiting about 8 lakh students announced

Rs.1,500 Scholarship for three months short term training at ITIs for youths who dropped out after school education under “Badukuva Dari” scheme: Rs.1,500 stipend under apprenticeship programme for 3 months announced

Rs.2,000 financial assistance for appearing in competitive examination to the graduate youth who could not get employment even after three years under “Yuva Snehi” scheme announced

To address the shortage of Anganawadi buildings in the urban areas, 250 Anganawadi buildings would be constructed at a cost of Rs.50 crore

75 units of free electricity facility is provided to the BPL families of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes under Amrutha Jyothi programme

Action has been taken to start Sri Narayana Guru Residential School, at a cost of Rs.18 crore per school, one each in the districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga

Self-defence training will be provided to girl students studying in residential schools of department of minority welfare at the cost of Rs.2 crores

For the youth who could not get employment even after three years of completing the degree
education, to encourage them to participate in competitive examinations, under a new scheme “Yuvasnehi”, one time financial assistance of Rs.2,000 per person will be provided.

Minority students who wish to undertake graduate and post graduate education abroad in prestigious universities having a Global Ranking within 250, an interest subsidy will be provided with zero percent interest rate for up to Rs.20 lakhs per person

Target for distribution of loan of Rs.1,800 crore at zero rate of interest to 45,000 Self-Help Women Groups in Co-operation sector announced

Implementation of Jeevan JyothiVimaYojane for 56 lakh small and marginal farmers’ families at an expenditure of Rs.180 crore.
