The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, has invited nominations for the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purashkar (PMRBP) 2025. Instituted to recognize the energy, determination, zeal, and achievements of the country’s youngest citizens, the award honors exceptional children who have made a significant mark in various fields.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Children who wish to be considered must:
- Be Indian citizens residing in India.
- Be 18 years of age or younger as of the last date of nomination submission.
- Have achieved or performed an act of excellence within the last two years from the nomination deadline.
- Not be previous recipients of the PMRBP in any category.
The achievements could span a wide range of categories including innovation, scholastic performance, sports, arts, culture, bravery, or social service. The award is not limited by gender, region, or background, encouraging inclusivity and diversity.
AWARD DETAILS
Winners of the PMRBP are honored with:
- A Medal.
- A cash prize of ₹1,00,000.
- A Certificate and Citation.
A total of 25 awards are usually given each year. However, relaxation in the number of awards can be made at the discretion of the National Selection Committee, depending on the quality and number of outstanding nominations.
SELECTION PROCESS
All submitted nominations undergo an initial screening by the Screening Committee to verify eligibility and ensure completeness. The shortlisted entries are then evaluated by the National Selection Committee, which makes the final decision.
IMPORTANT DATES
- The last date to submit nominations has been extended till 15th August 2025.
- The awardees will be announced on Veer Bal Diwas, observed on 26th December.
- The President of India will confer the awards during a special ceremony in January 2026 in New Delhi.
The PMRBP is a celebration of India’s young talents who inspire with their courage, intellect, compassion, and creativity. Parents, guardians, schools, and organizations are encouraged to submit nominations and ensure that the deserving young heroes receive the recognition they truly deserve.
