Online Registration for SSLC Private Candidates 2026
Students can now register for the SSLC examination 2026 as private candidates through the official website, To register, students must create a user ID using their or their parent’s mobile number, ensuring they receive updates throughout the process. Each mobile number can be used for only one student registration, and the login must remain active until the marks card is issued.
Eligibility Criteria for Private Candidates
The KSEAB SSLC 2026 private registration is open to:
- Students unable to receive formal education or attend school regularly.
- Those who have discontinued their studies.
- Students from unrecognized schools or schools without a school code.
- Candidates pursuing education through Madrasas, Gurukulas, or other non-formal institutions.
Applicants must be at least 15 years old by March 1, 2026. Candidates from other states currently residing in Karnataka and possessing valid documents are also eligible. However, those who have already passed the SSLC or equivalent examination cannot apply again as private candidates.

Medium, Subjects, and Exam Pattern
Private candidates can choose from seven mediums of instruction — Kannada, English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, and Urdu. Once selected, the medium cannot be changed.
The SSLC exam pattern follows Karnataka’s three-language formula:
- First Language – 125 marks
- Second and Third Languages – 100 marks each
- Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies – 100 marks each
Specially-abled students can opt for substitute subjects like Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Hindustani Music, or Carnatic Music in place of Mathematics or Science.
Application Review and Approval Process
After submission, applications are sent to the Head Master (HM) of the allotted school for verification. The HM must approve or reject applications within seven working days. In case of rejection, reasons will appear in the student’s login, and an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number. Corrections can be made until approval is granted.
Textbooks, Model Papers, and Hall Tickets
Private candidates can download textbooks for the academic year 2025-26, Model question papers and exam updates are available on the KSEAB website.
After registration confirmation, students can download their hall ticket directly from their login using their username and password. If there are any errors in the draft hall ticket, they should immediately contact the board.
Important Rules and Additional Information
- There is no internal assessment for SSLC private candidates.
- Examination centres are allotted by the board — students cannot choose them.
- Fees paid are non-refundable.
- Candidates can improve their SSLC results by contacting the board after passing the exam.
