The Karnataka Labour Department, through the Karnataka Labour Welfare Board (KLWB), has announced the launch of its Educational Incentive Assistance Scheme for the academic year 2025-26. This welfare initiative aims to support the children of organised sector workers who contribute to the Labour Welfare Board, offering financial assistance to encourage their educational aspirations.
As per the official notification, online applications are now open, and eligible candidates can apply through the Board’s official portal on or before 31st December 2025.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The scheme targets children of organised workers who contribute regularly to the Labour Welfare Board and meet the following conditions:
- The applicant must be a child of an organised worker whose monthly salary is less than ₹35,000.
- The student must have passed the previous academic year with:
- At least 50% marks for candidates in the general category.
- At least 45% marks for candidates under PwD categories.
- Students must be pursuing studies from high school level to postgraduate level, including professional courses like medical and engineering.
- A maximum of two children per family can avail of the benefit under this scheme.
