This innovative initiative is designed to deliver educational, cultural, religious, and social books at highly affordable rates, supporting the vision of the New Education Policy (NEP) which emphasizes equitable access to quality learning materials.
With millions of students and learners across India still reliant on printed books, especially in rural and remote areas with limited internet connectivity, Gyan Post aims to bridge the knowledge divide. It ensures that essential educational content can reach the doorstep of every student, teacher, or enthusiast — regardless of geography.
The Gyan Post service is now operational in all post offices across the country, making it easily accessible to the general public. The delivery charges have been deliberately kept low to encourage widespread usage. The minimum rate is just ₹20 for book packets weighing up to 300 grams, and the maximum rate is ₹100 for packets weighing up to 5 kilograms. These rates exclude applicable taxes and are designed to remain competitive and affordable for educational institutions, publishers, NGOs, and individual users.
A major highlight of this service is the provision of tracking facilities for every parcel, ensuring transparency, accountability, and peace of mind for senders and recipients. This tracking feature enhances user confidence and aligns with modern logistics standards.
