The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a revamped Online Application Portal aimed at simplifying and modernizing the registration and application process for all its examinations. This new system replaces the existing One Time Registration (OTR) module and introduces a more structured and user-friendly interface.
The new portal is organized into four distinct parts, each displayed as separate cards on the homepage. The first three parts — Account Creation, Universal Registration, and Common Application Form — are common to all examinations and can be filled out at any time. These sections include personal, contact, and educational details, and once completed, candidates need only update them when necessary. This setup enables aspirants to complete most of the registration process well in advance, reducing the burden and last-minute rush when an examination is announced.
The fourth part, titled “Examination”, is specific to each exam and includes examination notices, application forms, and application status updates. Candidates are required to fill out this section during the period specified in the exam notification, ensuring that only relevant and timely information is submitted.
All applicants are mandated to register afresh on this newly introduced platform. Previous registrations through the old OTR system are no longer valid. Additionally, candidates must upload all necessary documents through the new portal, following the detailed instructions provided both on the homepage and within each module to ensure clarity and accuracy.
A key feature of the new portal is the integration of Aadhaar as the preferred ID document in the Universal Registration process. Using Aadhaar simplifies the verification and authentication process, making it seamless and efficient. Once verified, Aadhaar-linked details serve as a permanent record for all future UPSC examinations, thereby eliminating redundancy and enhancing reliability.
This new system is expected to significantly improve the application experience for candidates by offering convenience, efficiency, and reduced stress during the application window. UPSC encourages all applicants to familiarize themselves with the new portal and complete the initial three parts as soon as possible to stay prepared for any upcoming exam notifications, for more details CLICK HERE
