The UK government has officially opened applications for the Chevening Scholarship and Fellowship programmes 2025, offering full financial support for a one-year master’s degree at any UK university or specialised professional development courses at designated institutions. Interested candidates must submit their applications by October 7, 2025.
Chevening Scholarships are open to Indian citizens who have at least two years of work experience acquired after completing their undergraduate degree. These scholarships aim to nurture future leaders by providing access to world-class education in the UK. On the other hand, Chevening Fellowships are intensive 8-12 week programmes hosted at top UK institutions. They are designed for mid-to-senior level professionals and provide a multidisciplinary approach through lectures, workshops, site visits, and interaction with sector experts.

KEY CHEVENING FELLOWSHIPS 2025
Chevening Cyber Security Fellowship: Delivered at Cranfield University, this programme supports professionals in cyber policy and security from government, law enforcement, academia, and industry.
Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence: Hosted at the University of Oxford, it develops future changemakers across sectors including government, civil society, media, and business.
Chevening Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship: Also at Oxford, this fellowship brings together professionals in science, technology, innovation, and public policy.
Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship: Delivered at the University of Westminster, this programme is tailored for journalists from South Asia working in political, economic, and business reporting.
Selected candidates will receive email updates regarding their application status and can also track progress via the online application system using their registration credentials.
Eligibility and Exclusions
Applicants cannot hold British or dual British citizenship, unless they are citizens of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) status and are applying from Hong Kong. Individuals holding refugee status in ineligible countries are also not allowed. However, candidates who are citizens of an eligible country and hold refugee status in another eligible country remain eligible.
Scholarship Benefits
The Chevening Scholarship covers university tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel costs to and from the UK, an arrival allowance, homeward departure allowance, one visa application fee, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.
The Chevening programme in India is the largest in the world, having benefited over 3,900 scholars and fellows since 1983. It is supported by a wide range of government and industry partners, including state governments like Jharkhand, Nagaland, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand, as well as corporate partners such as the Adani Group and TVS Motors.
