The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Telangana, has officially announced an extension for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2025-26 registration deadline. According to the latest notification, Class 8 students studying during the academic year 2025-26 can now register and pay the examination fee online until October 18, 2025.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Telangana, released a statement saying, “It is informed that the last date to register the application online and the due dates for payment of examination fee for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination by the students who are studying in Class VIII during Academic Year 2025-26 is hereby extended up to October 18, 2025.”
Revised NMMS 2025-26 Schedule
As per the revised notification, the Headmasters of schools must submit the printed copies of online application forms, nominal rolls (two copies), and SBI fee payment receipts to the respective District Educational Officer (DEO) by October 22, 2025.
Subsequently, DEOs are required to forward all verified documents to the Director of Government Examinations, Telangana, Hyderabad, by October 24, 2025.

NMMS Eligibility Criteria
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is a centrally sponsored scholarship designed to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections to pursue education beyond the secondary level.

- The student must be studying in Class 8 in a government, local body, or aided school during the academic year 2025-26.
- The annual parental income from all sources should not exceed Rs 3,50,000.
