The Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) programme, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has announced the opening of submissions for the National-Level Cyber Security Awareness Competitions. The initiative, part of the Stay Safe Online program, invites participants from across India to showcase their creativity and knowledge in promoting safe digital practices. The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2025.
About the Stay Safe Online Program
The Stay Safe Online program is a national cyber awareness campaign aimed at educating India’s “Digital Naagrik” on secure and responsible online behaviour. It targets a wide audience—children, teens, youth, teachers, parents, women, senior citizens, government employees, NGOs, Common Service Centres (CSCs), and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Through mass awareness initiatives, competitions, quizzes, and role-based learning pathways, the program strives to inculcate cyber hygiene and even inspire career interests in the cybersecurity domain.
A dedicated web portal has been developed to serve as a comprehensive resource hub, offering multimedia content tailored to various user groups. Topics range from safe browsing practices to protection against online frauds and securing digital identities.
Competition Details and Activities
The competitions are designed to make learning about cybersecurity engaging and impactful. Activities include:
- Drawing / Painting
- Cartoon Storyboard
- Short Awareness Films
- My Success Story: Thanks to Stay Safe Online
- Reels / Shorts
- Slogan Writing
- Cyber Awareness Tales (character-driven storytelling)
- Technical Papers
- Nukkad Natak (street play)
The overarching theme for all entries is “Cyber Surakshit Bharat”, encouraging participants to highlight the importance of cyber safety in India’s digital journey.
Eligibility and Judging Criteria
The competition is open to all age groups, with no restrictions on who can participate. Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Originality – 30%
- Creativity and Presentation – 40%
- Relevance to Theme – 30%
An expert jury will review all entries, and its decisions will be final.
Awards and Recognition
Top three participants in each category will be honoured at both the state and national levels. Winners will be announced on October 10, 2025, with the award ceremony date to be confirmed.
Apart from prizes, the competition offers participants a platform to gain national recognition for their talent and contribute meaningfully to India’s cyber safety movement.
