God exists when mathematics is consistent, and the Devil exists when we cannot prove it. Mathematics is not just subject, is way of life. From waking up by seeing time to going for sleep, we are using mathematics. Mathematics is not only about addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It also includes approximation, probability, budgeting and many more. The Truth is that we use math all the time!

It is pertinent to note how one experiences mathematical applications in daily life from time one gets up from bed till one goes to bed in the night. Be it a cook, a farmer, a carpenter , a mechanic , a shopkeeper or a doctor , an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, an artist or a tailor, everyone needs math in daily life.

From numbers to complex equations, mathematics became our indivisible part of life. From evolution of world to far made technologies, we used mathematics. Though Mathematics is mutual friend of all subjects.

Mathematics! The word that sends many of students into a cold sweat, from primary school to sixth class, from passing CBSE mathematics or engineering level mathematics. Some students brave it and venture into mathematics in higher education, at degree level or even beyond. Whether you aspire to study any discipline like sociology, psychology, physics, biology or even economics, mathematics is held in high regard, and you will be called on solve various mathematics problems, as part of your work.

If you don’t believe me, just go through forward that how Mathematics crosses over into other subjects below and I don’t just mean Science and Technology!

Science and Technology

You are probably already aware that science and math are closely connected, particularly the topics of chemistry, astronomy and physics.

Literature and Writing

Literature is one of the subjects that you might think of as literature is the furthest away from mathematics and science but actually it is full of mathematical theories. Poetry is a great example for that, with its meter and particular rhythms. All of these are based on mathematics calculations don’t you know!

The Arts

Art itself relies heavily on geometry, particularly some modern masterpieces, as well as social statistics so students who understand basic geometric formulas and can identify patterns in statistics can usually craft impressive and influential art pieces. Photographers, on the other hand, use math to calculate things like shutter speed, lighting, angles, exposure time, and focal length.

Totally Mathematics in real life is endless!!!!

HISTORY

Our Indian government declared 22nd December as National Mathematics Day. This was declared by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 26th February 2012 at Madras University, during the inaugural function of the celebration to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Indian mathematical mastermind Srinivasa Ramanujan. On this occasion Manmohan Singh also declared that 2012 would be celebrated as the National Mathematics year. In 2017, the day’s significance was enhanced by the opening of the Ramanujan Math Park in Kuppam, in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.

Profession Mathematician

ABOUT

He is the one who revolutionized the subject mathematics by his extra-ordinary works in mathematics. He knowledge was out-standing in trigonometry and developed many theorems by himself. Ramanujam made substantial contributions to the analytical theory of numbers and worked on elliptic functions, continued fractions and infinite.

In 1900 he began to work on his own on mathematics summing geometric and arithmetic series. He worked on divergent series, gave a meaning to Eulerian second integral for all values of ‘n’, proved Goldbach’s conjecture, and designed formula for partition of whole number and so on. Besides his published work, Ramanujan left behind several notebooks filled with theorems that mathematicians have continued to study till now.

CELEBRATIONS

Various schools and colleges held function of mathematics day. On that occasion many mathematics related quizzes are held to encourage students towards mathematics. This day is celebrated all around the country with various programs about mathematics. Be the part of that function who knows your life mathematics can also change!
