MyGov Invites Stamp Designs from Students to Celebrate United Nations@80 and India’s Global Leadership

In a remarkable initiative to engage young minds in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations (UN), MyGov, in collaboration with the Department of Posts, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the United Nations Political Division, has launched a nationwide stamp design competition. The contest is open to students from Classes 9 to 12 and Art Colleges across India. Participants are invited to creatively interpret the theme: “UN@80 and India’s leadership in building our future through multilateralism, global leadership and stewardship.”

The campaign aims to highlight India’s vital role as a founding member of the UN, its unwavering support for multilateralism, and its leadership in global initiatives for peace, development, and cooperation. Schools affiliated with CBSE, including Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, as well as institutions affiliated with State Boards and universities, can submit the five best stamp designs by their students on the MyGov portal.

Students are encouraged to incorporate powerful elements reflecting India’s contribution to the UN, such as:

  • The ancient Indian philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – the world is one family.
  • India’s peacekeeping missions and humanitarian outreach.
  • India’s advocacy for the Global South and its commitment to a rules-based multilateral world order.

This competition marks an opportunity for students to visually express how India, through decades of collaboration with the UN, has contributed to tackling global issues including sustainable development, climate change, poverty eradication, peacekeeping, disaster risk reduction, disarmament, and human rights.

The contest began on 15th July 2025, and the last date for submissions is 15th August 2025. Institutions must participate collectively, as individual entries will not be accepted. Importantly, there is no entry fee for this competition.
