The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, has announced the MoES Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Program 2025–26. This highly competitive fellowship is designed to nurture young postgraduate talent and develop skilled manpower in the field of Earth System Sciences. The program will be coordinated by the Development of Skilled Manpower in Earth System Sciences (DESK-ESSC) at IITM.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply for the MoES JRF Program 2025–26, candidates must:
- Be 28 years of age or below as of 10 June 2025
- Hold a relevant Master’s degree or be in the final year of their postgraduate program
- Have a strong academic background and sufficient knowledge in their field of interest
- Be NET/GATE/LS (CSIR/UGC/ICAR) qualified
- Secure at least 55% marks (for General and OBC candidates) or 50% marks (for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the qualifying exam
APPLICATION DEADLINE
The last date to submit applications is 10th June 2025. Interested applicants are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
BENEFITS
Selected fellows will receive:
- A monthly stipend of ₹37,000
- House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms
