The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur has announced the opening of applications for its prestigious Ph.D. Programme for the July 2025 session. Aspiring candidates across medical, non-medical, and social behavioural sciences disciplines are invited to apply through the official online portal. The last date to submit the online application is 18th June 2025.
This year, AIIMS Jodhpur offers over 70 Ph.D. seats across various departments, presenting an exceptional opportunity for scholars and professionals seeking to pursue advanced research in medical and allied sciences.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
AIIMS Jodhpur welcomes applications from candidates with a range of academic backgrounds:
Medical Qualification: Candidates with MBBS, MD, MS, MDS, DNB, or Master of Physiotherapy from institutions recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), with at least 55% aggregate marks, are eligible to apply.
Non-Medical Disciplines: Candidates holding M.Sc., MA, M.Tech, or M.V.Sc. degrees with 60% aggregate marks in fields allied to medical sciences such as Biotechnology, Pharmacology, and Anthropology are eligible.
Social Behavioural Sciences: Applicants with MA, M.Sc., or M.Phil degrees in disciplines like Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, or Law (LLM) with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible.
Ph.D. in Nursing: Candidates must possess M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences, Laboratory Medicine, or M.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 60% marks.
APPLICATION FEES
- General/OBC: ₹1500 + transaction charges
- SC/ST/EWS: ₹1200 + transaction charges
- PwD Candidates: Exempted from application fees
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Admission to the Ph.D. programme will be conducted in two stages:
Stage I – Written Test: A 1.5-hour test comprising:

- Part 1: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on Research Methodology, Biostatistics, and Basic Sciences (50 marks)
- Part 2: A 30-minute Statement of Purpose submission (not scored)
Stage II – Interview: Candidates securing the 50th percentile or above in the written test will be shortlisted for an interview. A maximum of three candidates per seat under each guide will be considered.
