  • PhD Completion: Applicants must have received a PhD within the past five years or have official approval to defend their thesis by 1 September 2025, the fellowship start year.
  • EUI Affiliation: Candidates should not be currently enrolled in or employed by the European University Institute at the application deadline. Former EUI members can apply only after at least one year of full-time employment or fellowship elsewhere.
  • English Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
