The Malayalee Engineers’ Association (MEA) Scholarship 2025 is a prestigious opportunity for engineering students from Kerala who come from low-income backgrounds. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students aspiring to pursue engineering, technology, computer science, architecture, or naval architecture at any accredited college or university in India.

Organised by the Malayalee Engineers’ Association (MEA), a global community of professional engineers of Kerala origin, the initiative seeks to empower talented students by easing their financial burden and promoting access to higher education in technical fields.

The last date to apply for the MEA Scholarship 2025 is October 23, 2025.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected candidates under the MEA Scholarship 2025 will receive an annual scholarship of USD 600 (approximately ₹52,889). This amount will help cover academic expenses, books, and other essential educational needs, thereby enabling deserving students to focus on their studies without financial stress.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the MEA Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must be ranked within the top 7,000 in the Government of Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM), OR have a NATA score greater than 110.
  • Must have scored above 85% in both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Architecture, or Naval Architecture.
  • Must be a first-year student enrolled in an accredited college or university offering at least a 4-year (8-semester) course, or a 5-year (10-semester) course in the case of B.Arch.

Ineligibility Criteria

Applicants will not be eligible for the scholarship if they:

  • Have gained admission through lateral entry (i.e., after completing a diploma or another degree).
  • Are currently enrolled in the second, third, or fourth year of their degree course.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents along with their application:

  • Self-attested marksheets of Class 10 and Class 12.
  • Rank certificate from the Government of Kerala Engineering Entrance (KEAM) or NATA scorecard.
  • Income certificate issued by a competent authority.
  • Details of awards and honours received for extracurricular activities.
  • Ration card (for candidates applying under the BPL category).
  • A personal statement describing financial hardship or special circumstances justifying the need for financial assistance.
  • A declaration detailing any other scholarships, grants, or non-repayable financial awards received from sources other than MEA Houston, along with their amount, duration, and awarding authority.

Application and Selection Process

  • Application Deadline: October 23, 2025
  • Applications must be submitted through the official MEA portal or as directed by the Malayalee Engineers’ Association.
  • The Selection Committee will assess applicants based on academic merit, the personal statement, and referee endorsements.
  • Additional factors such as the applicant’s country of origin and the alignment of their academic goals with MEA’s objectives may also be considered during the evaluation.
