The Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation (KMDC) has officially announced the launch of the Swawalambi Sarathi Scheme 2025, inviting applications from eligible beneficiaries belonging to religious minority communities in Karnataka. The scheme is designed to provide financial assistance in the form of a 50% subsidy on vehicle purchase, making it easier for minority youth to own a taxi, goods vehicle, or passenger auto rickshaw and build a sustainable livelihood.
Key Features of Swawalambi Sarathi Scheme 2025
Under the KMDC Swawalambi Sarathi Scheme 2025, beneficiaries will receive:
- 50% subsidy on the value of the vehicle or up to a maximum of ₹3,00,000 for the purchase of Taxi/Goods Vehicles.
- A subsidy of up to ₹75,000 for the purchase of Passenger Auto Rickshaw.
- The remaining vehicle cost, if availed through a bank loan, must be supported with a bank loan sanction letter.
This initiative aims to empower minorities in Karnataka by improving their economic condition and providing them with opportunities for self-employment in the transport sector.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the KMDC Swawalambi Sarathi Scheme 2025, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicant should belong to religious minority communities as defined in the Government Order.
- Must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- Age should be between 18 to 55 years.
- The annual family income should be below ₹6,00,000.
- Applicant must hold a valid Driving License issued by the Regional Transport Officer (RTO).
- Family members should not be employed in Central/State Government services.
- Neither the applicant nor their family should have availed benefits from any other KMDC scheme in the past five years, except Arivu Education Loan and Foreign Education Loan Scheme.

- Caste/Minority Certificate issued by the competent authority
- Income Certificate from the competent authority
- Copy of Aadhaar Card as residential proof
- Copy of Driving License
- Copy of Bank Passbook
- Copy of Vehicle Quotation
- Self-Declaration Form
