Karnataka Labour Card

Karnataka Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (KBOCWWB) has introduced an online e-portal for the registration of Karnataka labour cards. All labourers and construction workers can apply for a labour card, All the benefits will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the workers, There are two types of labour card issued – Building cards are issued to those who are working under a licenced contractor and Social cards are issued to those who are involved in non-building activities

The Karnataka State Government in 2007 framed rules in interest of the construction labourers in order to take up many welfare and development schemes

BENEFITS OF LABOUR CARD

Accident / Disability

Under the provisions of the Employee’s Compensation Act, 1923 Every registered construction worker who meets with an accident during the course of employment shall be compensated by the employer. along with a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh from the Board, Documents required to avail this facility are Medical Certificate, FIR copy, Medical Disability Certificate, Postmortem Report, for more details CLICK HERE

Assistance of Medical Expenses for Treatment of Major Ailments

Assistance of Medical Expenses for Treatment of Major Ailments such as Kidney transformation ,eye operation, removal of kidney stone, treatment of brain hemorrhage, treatment of ulcer, cancer , treatment of paralysis, orthopedics operation, uterus operation, treatment of asthama disease, maternity miscarriage cases, treatment of gall bladder related ailments, dialysis and other the Board shall grant an amount upto Rs. 2 lakh subject to the rates prescribed under the Central Government Health Service, Documents required to avail this facility are Medical Report, Discharge Summary, Form 22A, for more details CLICK HERE

Thayi Magu Sahaya Hasta

A registered woman construction worker who has delivered a child is eligible to avail this assistance for a period of 3 years from the date of delivery, An amount of rupee 6000 at the rate of 500 hundred per month shall be sanctioned to the registered woman construction worker, Documents required to avail this facility are Photo of Child, Birth Certificate, Discharge hospital Summary, for more details CLICK HERE

Continuation of Disability of Pension

The Board or authorized officer may Sanction an amount of Rs. 2000 per month as disability pension to a beneficiary, who is partially disabled due to any disease or accident at worksite and for an ex¬gratia payment of not more than Rs. 2 lakh, Documents required to avail this facility is Living Certificate, for more details CLICK HERE

Delivery Assistance

The Secretary or any other officer authorized in the behalf by the Board, for registered woman construction worker sanction Rs.50,000 only for first two deliveries, registered woman construction worker can get this assistance only twice Documents required to avail this facility are Birth Certificate of Child, Discharge Summary, for more details CLICK HERE

Education Assistance

An education assistance application must be submitted through the Seva Sindhu Portal, Only two children of registered construction workers shall be given this assistance, for more details CLICK HERE

Funeral and Ex-Gratia

If registered construction worker dies, the Secretary, or any other officer authorized in this behalf by the Board, shall pay a sum of Rs. 4,000 to the nominee of the deceased registered construction worker to meet the funeral expenses and an ex gratia amount of Rs. 71,000 shall also be paid to the nominee of the deceased registered construction worker to mitigate the financial hardship caused by the sudden demise, Documents required to avail this facility are Death Certificate, Nominee/Legal Hier’s Aadhaar, for more details CLICK HERE

Marriage Assistance

The Secretary or any other authorized in this behalf by the Board to registered construction worker, sanction a sum of Rs 60,000 as assistance to meet the marriage expenses of the worker two dependent children, Documents required to avail this facility are Marriage Certificate, Affidavit, for more details CLICK HERE

Medical Assistance

 The financial assistance shall be Rs 300 per day of the hospitalisation to the maximum of Rs 20,000 to a registered construction worker and their dependents hospitalised in a Government hospital or a private hospital for a continuous period of Hospitalization subject to actuals, Documents required to avail this facility are Treatment Bill/ Discharge Summary, Medical Certificate, Form 22A, for more details CLICK HERE

Pension

Every registered building or other construction worker beneficiary, who has completed sixty years of age and A registered construction worker must have continued as a beneficiary of the Board for at least 3 years before the age of 60 to get pension shall not exceed a sum of Rs. 3000 per month, Documents required to avail this facility are Employment Certificate, Living Certificate, for more details CLICK HERE

Step 1 : Visit Seva Sindu Official Portal (CLICK HERE)

Step 2 : Login in the Seva Sindhu Portal by enter Email ID / Mobile Number, Password, Captcha, Click on Submit

Step 3 : Service Plus Page will be displayed, In the Apply for Services, Click on View all available services

Step 4 : A New Page will be displayed, In Search Enter building, click on Application for Registration in Karnataka Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board

Step 5 : A New Dialog Box will get Open, Download the Document / Employment Certificate required

Step 6 : Click on Proceed to Apply

Step 7 : Application to apply for the Labour Card will get displayed, Fill all the required details, Enter the Captcha, Click on Submit

Step 8 : Check the details entered, Click on Attach Annexures

Step 9 : A New Page to Upload the documents / Attach Annexures will get displayed, Upload the Employment Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Age Proof Document, then Click on save annexures

Step 10 : A New Page will be displayed, Click on E-Sign and Submit, Dialog Box get open, Tick I Agree then Click on OTP

Step 11 : A New Page get open, Tick authorized Box, Enter Aadhaar Card Number, Click on Send OTP

Step 12 : Enter the OTP received, Verify the OTP, application acknowledgement copy will be displayed, take print out of the copy for further reference

You can check the status of submitted application from View application status, after getting verified from the labour department, the Labour card will be issued
