The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season is scheduled to start from 31st March 2023, the 1st match to be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, For the IPL 2023 season the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a new set of rules for the players

As per the new rules introduced by the BCCI for IPL 2023, after the toss the captains of both teams will be allowed to select teams of 11 players, this rule was brought up in the recently concluded SAT20 2023 series, this new rule adjustment would give allowance to both the teams so that they can select their best playing XI

For the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season to eliminate the blunders BCCI has allowed the teams to go for the Decision Review System (DRS) even for Wides and No Balls

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season has introduced Impact Player Rule,

As per the Impact Player Rule it will have a captain listing 4 substitute players along with the playing 11 at the toss, out of 4 only one can be used as an impact player., It states Impact Player can only be an Indian player unless there are less than 4 overseas players in the Playing 11, Impact player cannot act as a captain

Impact Player can be introduced by the team before the commence of the innings or after the completion of the over or after the fall of a wicket or after the batter retires anytime during the over.

A Player who is replaced by an Impact Player can no longer take part in the remainder of the match and is also the impact player is not permitted to return as a substitute fielder. Use of Impact player is not mandatory, it is up to the teams to use or not

If the umpires are satisfied in case of an injury to the impact player during the match a substitute fielder is allowed to take field in place of an injured player
