Infosys Foundation Launches Springboard Livelihood Program to Empower 5 Lakh Job Seekers by 2030

Infosys Foundation—renowned as the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys—unveiled a bold new initiative: the ‘Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program.’ With an aim to empower half a million job seekers in India by 2030, this program marks a significant step toward addressing the country’s employment challenges by bridging crucial skill gaps.

TRANSFORMATIVE FUNDING AND VISION

To launch this ambitious endeavor, Infosys Foundation has pledged over ₹200 crore to fund the first phase of the programme. This investment underscores their commitment to expanding economic possibilities for young Indians, especially those from underserved backgrounds.

HOLISTIC SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUTH

The Springboard Livelihood Program is designed to foster job creation among both graduate and undergraduate youth, spanning across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and non-STEM sectors. Recognizing the evolving needs of the modern workforce, the curriculum offers:

  • Training in cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)
  • Specialized modules in digital marketing and finance
  • Foundation courses in communication skills, time management, and interview preparation to nurture comprehensive workplace competencies

This blend of technical knowledge and soft skills aims to produce job-ready professionals equipped for the demands of contemporary industries.

WIDE-RANGING PARTNERSHIPS FOR BROADER IMPACT

To ensure widespread reach and diverse opportunities, Infosys Foundation has enlisted nearly 20 implementation partners. These include prominent organizations like ICT Academy, Unnati, Nirmaan, Magic Bus, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Centum, CII Foundation, and NIIT Foundation. Each partner plays a pivotal role in curating job opportunities and shaping meaningful career trajectories tailored to the strengths and aspirations of young learners.

A GAME-CHANGER FOR INDIA’S UNEMPLOYED YOUTH

The programme has drawn praise from social sector leaders. Ramesh Swamy, Founder of Unnati Foundation, likened the potential impact of the Springboard Livelihood Program on India’s unemployed youth to the transformative effect of the mid-day meal scheme on underprivileged children—a testament to its far-reaching vision.
