Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), a Central University located in Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand, has officially opened online applications for admission to its Ph.D. programs for the Academic Session 2024–25. Admission will be granted based on an All-India Entrance Examination, followed by a personal interview conducted by respective departments.
Candidates who have qualified national-level fellowships such as UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, CEED, ICAR, DST Inspire, and other similar examinations are exempted from the entrance test. However, they must still apply online to be considered for admission.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree following a 3-year or 4-year Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwBD categories are eligible with a 5% relaxation, i.e., 50% marks. Only those who have completed their qualifying degree by Academic Session 2023–24 are eligible to apply.
