Electoral Literacy Club |
An Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) is a platform by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to engage school and College students through interesting activities and hands on experience to create awareness among those regarding their electoral rights and get school / college goers familiarise with the electoral process of registration and voting in the country.
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) are established in Schools, colleges and rural communities.
At Electoral Literacy Clubs the Activities and Games are designed to stimulate and motivate students provoking them to think and ask questions regarding the Electoral Process in the Country,
Through Electoral Literacy Clubs, the Election Commission of India (ECI) aims at strengthening the culture of electoral participation among the young and future voters.
MEMBERS OF ELC
- Schools : Students studying in Class 9 to 12 who are in the age group of 14 to 17 years
- Colleges : Students studying in college who are in the age group of 18 to 21 years
- Rural Communities (Chunav Pathshala) : All members of the village
Electoral Literacy club (ELC) members will be part of thought provoking and interesting classroom based activities and games, ELC games consist of around 25 such activities and 6 games which have been carefully designed to impart specific learning which will help them become an Empowered (Prospective) Voter in future

National voters day is celebrated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) Every year 25th January, It is the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (ECI) which came into existence in 1950 is being celebrated since 2011 as National Voters Day to encourage young voters to take part in the electoral process.
It’s the day to celebrate the right to vote and also the democracy of India. Main objective of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is to increase the enrolment of voters, especially the eligible ones who are the Future voters of India
Every year the National voters day is celebrated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the presence of the Honourable President of India as the chief guest, the Celebration starts with the welcome speech, several cultural events are organised.
The National voters day is celebrated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) is celebrated to signify the County is Democratic and Every citizen has basic rights to vote. All got right to select his leader to whomever they think is capable of leading the nation, solve the problems of common people, bring about change by choosing the leader of their choice
