The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, has announced admissions for the Post-Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of English (PGCTE) program for the academic year 2025-26. Offered through distance mode, the PGCTE program is an excellent opportunity for aspiring and practicing English language teachers to enhance their expertise and professional skills.
The PGCTE is designed as a one-year program, comprising 8 months of effective study through correspondence, from July 2025 to February 2026. Following the study period, students are required to attend a Contact-cum-Examination Programme scheduled in June–July 2026, offering valuable interaction with faculty and peers, along with final assessments.
Eligibility for the PGCTE program is open to candidates who hold a Master’s Degree in English or allied disciplines such as Linguistics, Education, Mass Communication, Psychology, or Critical Humanities/Liberal Arts. This inclusive eligibility criteria ensures a diverse cohort of learners from various academic backgrounds who are passionate about English Language Teaching (ELT).
The application process is simple and user-friendly. Application forms will be available online from 18th March 2025. Candidates must submit the following documents along with their applications:
- Master’s Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate
- MA Marks/Grade Sheet
- SSC (Secondary School Certificate) Certificate/Marks Sheet
- Aadhaar Card
Admissions will be granted based on the fulfillment of eligibility criteria and the verification of submitted documents. There will be no separate entrance examination, streamlining the process for applicants from across the country.
The last date to submit the completed application form is 30th April 2025. Candidates are encouraged to apply early to ensure timely processing of their applications and to begin their study period promptly in July 2025.
