Delhi University has begun inviting applications for admission under its Competence Enhancement Scheme (CES) for the academic year 2025-26. The application process, which commenced on July 24, 2025, is open until July 29, 2025, for the July–December 2025 session. Eligible individuals can apply for studying select papers offered by various departments and colleges of the university in semesters 1, 3, and 5 via the official portal.
The admission process under CES starts today, and classes are scheduled to begin from August 1, 2025, as per the official notification. The CES is a flagship initiative by Delhi University, offering a unique chance for individuals from any age group to pursue higher education by attending classes alongside regular students enrolled in existing university programs.
Designed for learners who were unable to secure traditional admissions or those seeking to upgrade their academic or professional skills, CES incorporates the latest educational technologies and innovative learning approaches. It aims to foster continuous learning and development in line with modern academic and workplace demands.
According to the selection criteria laid out in the notification, admission to any paper under CES will depend on the availability of seats in the respective departments and colleges. The notification further clarifies that CES seats are supernumerary, meaning they are above the sanctioned intake and will not affect the regular admission quota.
This initiative is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2025, which emphasizes lifelong learning and inclusive education. By offering access to regular university coursework for learners outside the traditional student demographic, CES promotes academic inclusivity and supports knowledge enhancement across all sections of society.
The Competence Enhancement Scheme is particularly beneficial for working professionals, homemakers, retired individuals, or anyone seeking to reskill or upskill in specific academic disciplines. Participants will have access to the same academic environment, resources, and faculty as regular students, creating a vibrant and diverse learning experience.
Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the official Delhi University website to view the list of available papers and submit their applications before the July 29 deadline. With limited supernumerary seats available, early application is advised to secure a place in the desired course, for more details and apply CLICK HERE
