The Beca Colombia Program for Foreigners 2025-2, administered by ICETEX (Colombia’s educational credit and scholarship agency), offers a unique and fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue master’s degrees at top Colombian universities. This initiative is part of the Colombian government’s effort to strengthen academic and cultural exchange with the global community.
Through this program, eligible candidates can access a 24-month postgraduate education enriched by Colombia’s dynamic culture, rich biodiversity, and a welcoming international environment.
KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply, candidates must:
- Be of non-Colombian nationality, including no dual citizenship with Colombia.
- Be under 50 years of age at the time of application.
- Not be residing in Colombia or have lived there within the last 6 months.
- Have no marital or de facto relationship with a Colombian citizen.
- Never have benefited from an ICETEX scholarship previously.
- Hold a recognized undergraduate degree in any discipline.
- Possess a minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0 (or equivalent).
- Hold admission to 1–3 master’s programs listed in the 2025-2 Academic Offer Catalogue.
- Be in good physical and mental health, certified by a physician.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
Recipients enjoy a comprehensive package, including:
- Full tuition coverage at participating Colombian institutions.
- Health and medical insurance, including repatriation coverage.
- Visitor visa (Type V), facilitated by an official ICETEX letter.
- Monthly stipend equivalent to three Colombian minimum wages.
- One-time grant of COP 250,000 (~US$55) for processing a foreigner’s ID card.

- Certified copy of undergraduate degree.
- Academic transcript with GPA and grading scale.
- Motivation letter with program ranking and impact statement.
- Valid passport (first page, ≥ one year validity).
- Health certificate (issued within 30 days).
- Proof of at least one year professional experience.
