In a significant step toward inclusive education and tribal empowerment, Coal India Limited (CIL) and the National Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi. This collaborative project aims to uplift students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) through digital education, career mentorship, menstrual hygiene facilities, and teacher capacity building. By strengthening the educational ecosystem for tribal youth, the initiative aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat and inclusive growth.
Focus on Digital Education for EMRS Students
A core aspect of the CIL–NSTFDC MoU is enhancing digital education in Eklavya Model Residential Schools. Under the project, desktops, UPS systems, and tablets will be provided to tribal students, bridging the digital divide that often limits access to quality learning. By integrating technology into classrooms, students will be better equipped with 21st-century skills, improving their academic performance and employability.
Career Mentorship and Holistic Development
Beyond digital tools, the initiative emphasizes career mentorship programs for tribal students. Guidance on higher education, skill development, and competitive exam preparation will help students make informed career choices. Additionally, teacher capacity building programs will enhance teaching standards, ensuring EMRS students receive high-quality education. Menstrual Hygiene and Health Facilities
Recognizing the importance of health and hygiene for girl students, the CIL–NSTFDC partnership will establish menstrual hygiene facilities across EMRS campuses. This move addresses a key barrier to girls’ education and helps foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Health awareness sessions and infrastructure upgrades will further ensure students’ physical well-being.
