The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a crucial reminder to all affiliated schools to ensure error-free submission of student data in the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2025-26. The advisory highlights the importance of verifying and accurately entering every detail to avoid future complications during the board exams.
Schools Directed to Take Full Responsibility
According to the CBSE notification, schools must take full responsibility for verifying student details before finalizing the LOC. The Board has specifically emphasized three key areas:
- Spelling of Names – Names of students, parents, and guardians must exactly match the school admission and withdrawal registers.
- Date of Birth – DOB must be recorded strictly as per school records to prevent discrepancies in future documentation.
- Subject Combinations – Schools must ensure subject choices conform to CBSE’s scheme of studies and that subject codes are correctly filled.
The Board warned that errors in data entry could cause serious difficulties for students during examinations, including delays in issuing admit cards, results, and certificates.
Focus on Commonly Mistaken Subjects
The CBSE advisory has asked schools to exercise extra care while submitting subject details in Hindi, Urdu, Mathematics (Standard/Basic), and elective subjects, where mistakes are most frequently reported. Accurate entry of these subjects is vital to prevent changes later on.
Provision for Corrections
In an effort to assist schools and students, CBSE has allowed corrections after the initial submission of the LOC. If the examination fee has been paid, schools may correct the data without any extra charges. However, if revisions lead to additional fees, the extra amount will have to be borne by students.
Additionally, a Data Verification Slip will be generated for each candidate after the final submission. Schools can use this slip to verify and rectify entries before the correction window closes.
Data Verification Drive
To further streamline the process, CBSE will conduct a data verification drive from October 13 to October 27, 2025. During this drive, schools will be required to submit supporting documents like admission and withdrawal registers to validate the entries.
No Changes After Final Window
The Board has made it clear that once the final correction window closes, no further changes will be allowed to student particulars or subject combinations. Schools have therefore been urged to exercise utmost caution at every stage of the LOC submission process.
Ensuring Student Welfare
This reminder reflects CBSE’s ongoing commitment to maintaining transparency and minimizing errors in the examination process. By adhering to the guidelines for accurate data entry, schools can safeguard students’ eligibility, reduce stress during board exams, and ensure a smoother academic journey, for more details CLICK HERE
