The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced the Integrated Payment System (IPS) for smooth and transparent disbursal of remuneration and expenses related to the Class 12 practical examinations 2024-25. This new initiative by CBSE aims to bring efficiency, accuracy, and accountability in processing payments for exam-related functionaries, ensuring timely transactions and reducing errors.
CBSE IPS Portal for Practical Examinations
According to the notification, all schools affiliated with CBSE must log in to the IPS portal and complete the required data entry at the earliest. The system has been designed to facilitate direct transfer of payments to examiners, observers, and other functionaries involved in the practical examinations. This step is expected to streamline the process while eliminating manual errors and delays.
Schools are instructed to ensure that the bank account details of all exam functionaries are entered accurately. Importantly, CBSE has directed that the school principals personally review the data before final submission on the IPS portal. This is to guarantee that no examiner or observer is left unfilled, thereby avoiding payment issues.
Accountability for Errors
CBSE has issued a strict advisory highlighting that any mistake in bank account details may result in the payment being credited to the wrong person. In such cases, the responsibility will lie with the school principals, and the recovery of the wrongly paid amount will be enforced from them. This measure is intended to ensure accuracy and accountability from schools in handling sensitive financial data.
CBSE Support for CWSN Students
Alongside the IPS launch, CBSE has also rolled out a dedicated portal for Children With Special Needs (CWSN). The CWSN portal has been developed to help schools provide timely support, exemptions, and relaxations to eligible students during board examinations. Schools are required to upload the details and supporting documents of students in the CWSN category from September 9 to September 22, 2025.
Through this initiative, CBSE aims to ensure inclusivity and accessibility, offering CWSN students the opportunity to avail facilities such as extra time, scribes, or other relaxations as applicable. By digitizing this process, the board intends to make the approval and verification process faster, transparent, and student-friendly.
Digital Reforms in CBSE Examination Process
With the launch of the Integrated Payment System and the CWSN portal, CBSE continues its digital reforms in examination management. The IPS will help schools and examiners experience a seamless financial process, while the CWSN portal demonstrates CBSE’s commitment to inclusive education.
The CBSE Integrated Payment System (IPS) 2024-25 is a major step towards efficiency and transparency in handling exam payments, especially for Class 12 practical examinations. Schools must ensure timely and accurate data entry on the IPS portal, with principals bearing direct responsibility for correctness. Simultaneously, the CBSE CWSN portal reflects the board’s efforts to support special needs students by making exam facilities easily accessible. Together, these initiatives highlight CBSE’s vision of using technology to create a more accountable, inclusive, and student-friendly examination process, for more details CLICK HERE
