The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the notification for the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (CCE) 2025, Applications can be submitted from 28th March 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online till 29th April 2025, until 5 PM. The last date for fee payment is 1st May 2025, up to 5 PM.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for APSC CCE 2025:
- Be an Indian citizen.
- Be between 21 and 38 years old as of January 1, 2024 (age relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Have proficiency in Assamese or any other official, associate, or tribal language of Assam.
- Be a permanent resident of Assam and registered with a district employment office.
SELECTION PROCESS
The APSC CCE 2025 selection process comprises two main stages:
Preliminary Examination: Candidates will attempt two General Studies papers, each worth 200 marks. Those who qualify will proceed to the next stage.
Main Examination and Interview: The main examination consists of a written test followed by a personality assessment interview. This stage evaluates a candidate’s knowledge, analytical skills, and overall suitability for administrative roles.
EXAM CENTERS
The preliminary examination will be conducted at multiple centers across Assam, including Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hailakandi, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Pathsala, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Sribhumi, Tamulpur, Tezpur, Tinsukia, and Udalguri. The main examination will be conducted exclusively at the Guwahati center.
APPLICATION FEES
- General category (including ex-servicemen): Rs. 297.20 (including taxes and processing charges)
- SC, ST, BPL, PwBD, and women candidates: Rs. 197.20
Candidates are advised to thoroughly review the official notification before applying. As stated in the notification, “The candidates applying for the Examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all stages, including the Preliminary Examination, Main (Written) Examination, and Personality Test (Interview), will be purely provisional, subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.”
