The ANRF-National Post Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) 2025, launched by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, stands as a premier initiative to nurture promising young researchers in India. This prestigious fellowship aims to support motivated individuals in conducting advanced, independent research in the fields of science, engineering, and medicine, thereby strengthening the nation’s R&D landscape.
This fellowship is tailored for early-career researchers who have recently earned their Ph.D. in Science or Engineering, or M.D./M.S. in Medicine from recognized institutions. Applicants must be Indian citizens, and their age must not exceed 35 years at the time of application. The N-PDF provides an excellent opportunity to carry out research under the guidance of accomplished mentors at reputed academic or R&D institutions across India.
FELLOWSHIP BENEFITS
Selected fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹80,000 plus applicable House Rent Allowance (HRA). Those awaiting their Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree will receive ₹50,000 per month plus HRA until they are officially awarded the degree. In addition, the fellowship includes an annual research grant of ₹2,00,000 to support project-related expenses.
Host institutions will also receive an overhead allowance of ₹1,00,000 per year to facilitate smooth implementation of the research project. The fellowship is tenable for a period of two years, strictly within India.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates must submit a complete application along with necessary documents, including their Bio-data, recent photograph, Ph.D./M.D./M.S. degree certificate, detailed research proposal, and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer if currently employed.
APPLICATION DEADLINE AND SELECTION
The deadline for submission of applications is 30th June 2025. Applications will be scrutinized by an expert committee, and in some cases, candidates may be invited for an interview as part of the final selection process. The evaluation will be based on the scientific merit of the research proposal and the candidate’s academic credentials.
