The National Law University (NLU) Delhi has officially extended the examination date for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026. As per the revised schedule, the AILET 2026 will now be held on December 14, 2025, for admissions to its flagship five-year BA LLB (Honours) and one-year LLM programmes for the academic year 2026–27.
The entrance exam will be conducted in a single shift from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, replacing the earlier announced date of December 7, 2025, as mentioned in the university’s previous notification issued on June 17. NLU Delhi reaffirmed that AILET 2026 will remain a national-level entrance exam, ensuring admission transparency and consistency across India.
In line with the revised exam date, the application process for AILET 2026 will now commence on August 7, 2025, rather than the initially planned date of August 1. Aspiring candidates can register and fill out the application form via the official portal. The deadline for application submission is November 10, 2025. NLU Delhi has also announced that a detailed notification containing comprehensive guidelines and revised exam instructions will be issued shortly.
Besides AILET, the university also confirmed that the All-India Entrance Test (AIET) 2026 for other postgraduate and doctoral programmes will be conducted as scheduled on May 3, 2026. These include admissions to:
- Postgraduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP)
- Joint MA/LLM Programme in Intellectual Property Law and Management
- PhD Programme
The detailed admission notification for AIET 2026 will be released in January 2026, and the online application window will open on January 7, 2026, on the same official website.
