The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has released comprehensive guidelines and frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the registration process for private candidates appearing for the II PUC 2026 examinations. These guidelines outline the eligibility criteria, age limit, required documents, registration fee, and application process.
This move aims to simplify the registration procedure and ensure transparency for students who wish to continue their education privately through KSEAB’s official portal
Minimum Age and Educational Qualification
To register as a private candidate, the applicant must:
- Have completed 17 years as of March 31, 2026, and should be born on or before March 31, 2009.
- Have passed the 10th standard examination from a recognized education board.
Eligibility for Candidates from Other Boards
- Students from other state boards (outside Karnataka) are eligible, provided they studied Kannada as one of the language subjects in their 10th standard.
- Students from SSLC, CBSE, ICSE, or NIOS boards in Karnataka are also eligible under the same condition — Kannada must have been one of their languages.
- Candidates who passed the 10th standard from any Secondary Education Board recognized by the Department of School Education (Pre-University) in August 2025 or earlier are eligible.
Eligibility for Re-Registration
- Candidates who failed in 1st PUC, did not appear for exams, or discontinued their studies can register as private candidates.
- Those who passed SSLC and later joined ITI, JOC, or Diploma courses (whether passed, failed, or discontinued) are also eligible.
- However, candidates who failed in 2nd PUC in previous years cannot register again in the same combination.
- Students already registered as fresh (regular) or repeater candidates for the 2nd PUC Exam–1 of 2025–26 cannot register as private candidates.
