VAIBHAV Fellowship for NRI researchers launched

VAIBHAV Fellowship

On the occasion of the National Science Day (28th February 2023), the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh launched VAIBHAV Fellowshipscheme for the Indian Diaspora abroad.

While Launching the Vaibhav Fellowship, Dr Jitendra Singh said it aims at collaboration between best of Diaspora Minds with Domestic Minds to deliver world class projects and Products

and also aims at improving the research ecosystem of India’s Higher Educational Institutions by facilitating academic and research collaborations between Indian Institutions and the best institutions in the world through mobility of faculty/researcher from overseas institutions to India.

For Vaibhav Fellowship the applicant should be Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and must have obtained Ph.D /M.D / M.S degree from a recognized University.

And also the applicant must be a researcher engaged in an overseas academic / research / industrial organization with a proven track record of research & development and plan to work for a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 2 months a year in a research institution / academic institution in India.

The duration of the Vaibhav fellowship is 3 years with the Central Government offering the researchers an amount of up to Rs 37 lakh for the entire period.
