UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2025: Admit Card Released

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the Civil Services Mains Examination 2025. Candidates appearing for the Mains stage of one of the most prestigious competitive exams can download their hall tickets from the official UPSC portal.

The UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination 2025 is scheduled to be conducted on August 22, 23, 24, 30, and 31, 2025. The exam will be held in two shifts each day — the first shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

This year, the UPSC aims to fill 979 vacancies through the Civil Services Examination, which recruits officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Services.

Exam Pattern and Qualifying Papers

The Mains examination will include two qualifying papers — Paper A and Paper B. Paper A will be an Indian language paper, while Paper B will be an English language paper. Both will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard. It is important to note that these papers are of qualifying nature, meaning the marks obtained will not count towards the final ranking. However, failing to secure the minimum qualifying marks in either will result in disqualification from the further selection process.

Apart from these qualifying papers, the Mains stage also includes a series of descriptive papers covering General Studies, Essay, and Optional Subjects, which are crucial for determining the candidate’s merit and ranking.
