Union Education Minister Launches Viksit Bharat Buildathon for School Students: Registration Begins

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog. This landmark initiative aims to foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students of Classes 6 to 12 in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is one of the largest innovation movements in the world, engaging 12 crore students from six lakh schools across India. The programme is designed to encourage school students to ideate, design, and create prototypes that support the country’s mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat and holistic national development.

Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 Themes

Students participating in the buildathon will work on innovative projects under four core themes:

  • Vocal for Local
  • Atmanirbhar Bharat
  • Swadeshi
  • Samriddh Bharat

These themes resonate with the government’s vision of building a self-reliant India, promoting indigenous solutions, and driving prosperity through creativity and innovation.

Buildathon 2025 Schedule and Registration Details

The Department of School Education and Literacy will conduct the Viksit Bharat Buildathon on October 13, 2025, in six lakh schools across the country. The live event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 10 am to 12 noon.

  • Registration Dates: September 23 – October 6, 2025
  • Buildathon Entry Submission: October 13 – October 31, 2025
  • Winner Announcement: January 2026

Interested students can register online to participate in the event. Schools are encouraged to motivate students to join the initiative and contribute ideas that can be developed into prototypes.

Awards and Recognition

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 includes a prestigious recognition programme for innovative students:

  • Top 10 national-level winners
  • 100 state-level winners
  • 1,000 district-level winners
