TISS: UMANG Fellowship 2025 Applications Open

The Center for Lifelong Learning, School of Social Work at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, is inviting applications from school teachers across India for the UMANG Fellowship 2025. This six-month, part-time hybrid fellowship is designed to empower educators to build joyful and emotionally nurturing classrooms through advanced Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks and community-based learning.

Funded by the Flourishing Minds Fund, America, the fellowship is offered free of cost and is an exceptional opportunity for educators passionate about mental health, well-being, and positive school transformation. With only 50 seats available, the program seeks highly motivated and committed individuals ready to drive change in school ecosystems.

FELLOWSHIP HIGHLIGHTS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • School teachers with a graduate or bachelor’s degree and at least three years of teaching experience
  • Fluent in Hindi (spoken) and English (reading/writing)
  • Passionate about mental health, social-emotional learning, and educational innovation
  • Committed to applying SEL practices in their classrooms and schools

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A 500-word write-up detailing motivation and a brief idea for a school-based SEL project
  • A No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the employer, if necessary
