TGBIE Issues Notice for 1st-Year Intermediate Students to Pay Recognition and Green Fund Fees by October 31

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has officially released detailed instructions regarding the collection of fees for the academic year 2025-26. As per the notification, all principals of junior colleges in Telangana have been directed to collect two specific fees from students admitted to the first year of the Intermediate course — the Recognition Fee and the Green Fund Fee.

According to the circular, the Recognition Fee has been fixed at ₹220 per student, while the Green Fund Fee has been set at ₹15 per student. These fees are applicable to both General and Vocational stream students, with each course category requiring separate payments. Importantly, students studying in Government Junior Colleges are fully exempted from paying both the Recognition and Green Fund Fees, ensuring that education remains accessible and affordable for government institution students.

The Recognition Fee is intended to officially register the student’s admission with TGBIE, covering administrative and regulatory costs involved in maintaining academic records and ensuring compliance with board norms. On the other hand, the Green Fund Fee supports environmental initiatives on campus, including maintaining greenery, improving sanitation, and promoting eco-friendly activities within the college premises. This initiative reflects the board’s commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness in educational institutions.

“All the Principals of Junior Colleges in Telangana (except Government Junior Colleges) are hereby directed to collect the ‘Recognition Fee’ @ ₹220/- (Rupees Two hundred twenty only) and ‘Green Fund Fee’ @ ₹15/- (Rupees Fifteen only) from each student admitted into 1st year Intermediate Course during the Academic Year 2025-26,” the official TGBIE notice stated.

The circular further specifies that all collected amounts must be remitted directly to the TGBIE account via online transfer. To ensure a transparent and efficient process, colleges are required to use the payment gateway available on the Chief Commissioner of Goods and Services (CGG) web portal. The deadline for payment submission has been set from October 24 to October 31, 2025, giving institutions a one-week window to complete the transactions.

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education emphasized that the timely collection and remittance of these fees are mandatory, and any delay could affect the institution’s recognition status. The board also urged college managements to ensure that students are not overcharged or levied any additional unauthorized fees beyond the prescribed amounts.

The directive reinforces TGBIE’s ongoing efforts to standardize administrative procedures across junior colleges in Telangana while simultaneously promoting environmental responsibility through the Green Fund initiative. This balanced approach ensures that both institutional development and ecological sustainability go hand in hand.

As the 2025-26 academic session begins, junior college principals and managements are expected to strictly adhere to the board’s guidelines, ensuring transparency and accountability in the fee collection process, for more details CLICK HERE
