Telangana Wins IESA Industry Excellence Award 2025 for Leadership in Battery Manufacturing

Telangana has been honored with the prestigious IESA Industry Excellence Award 2025 in the category of State Leadership – Battery Manufacturing at the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2025 held in New Delhi. The award, presented to S.K. Sharma, recognized the state’s outstanding achievements in advancing battery production, electric vehicle (EV) development, and green energy initiatives.

The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), the apex industry alliance focused on promoting energy storage, e-mobility, and green energy technologies, acknowledged Telangana’s progressive and integrated approach to building a sustainable energy future. The recognition reflects the state’s significant strides in becoming a national leader in the battery manufacturing ecosystem.

Over the past few years, Telangana has positioned itself as a forward-thinking state by rolling out EV and Renewable Energy Policies that foster innovation, investment, and infrastructure development. These policies have laid a strong foundation for the growth of battery manufacturing units, energy storage systems, and EV supply chains, attracting major industry players and startups to set up operations in the state.

A key factor in Telangana’s success has been the development of dedicated industrial clusters and energy parks, providing a robust ecosystem for clean energy businesses to flourish. These clusters offer state-of-the-art facilities, streamlined approvals, and policy incentives that encourage both domestic and international companies to invest in the state’s green economy.

By promoting R&D collaborations, skill development, and technology transfer in the energy storage sector, Telangana has also contributed to job creation and the acceleration of India’s transition towards a low-carbon economy. The award at IESW 2025 further cements its role as a model for other Indian states aiming to develop strong and sustainable battery manufacturing and EV infrastructure.

Receiving the award, S.K. Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering clean energy solutions and supporting India’s larger vision of becoming a global energy storage hub. “This award is a testament to Telangana’s vision, policy alignment, and industry collaboration in driving green mobility and battery innovation,” Sharma said.

As energy storage and EV adoption become critical to achieving national climate goals, Telangana’s proactive leadership and policy-driven approach make it a frontrunner in India’s green transformation journey. The IESA Industry Excellence Award 2025 shines a spotlight on the state’s commitment to a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.
