The Hon’ble Prime Minister, on the second International Day of Yoga, announced the prestigious PM Yoga Awards to honor individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to the development and promotion of Yoga. These awards, given annually on June 21st, recognize outstanding efforts in making Yoga a global movement. The PM Yoga Awards 2025 are now open for registrations, inviting nominations from dedicated Yoga practitioners and organizations worldwide.
About the PM Yoga Awards
The awards aim to recognize and felicitate individuals and organizations that have created a lasting impact on society through Yoga. The initiative encourages the growth of Yoga at both national and international levels, ensuring that its physical, mental, and spiritual benefits reach every corner of the world. The awards are hosted in collaboration with MyGov, making the nomination process seamless and accessible.
Award Categories
The PM Yoga Awards are divided into four categories:
- National Individual – Given to an Indian citizen for outstanding contribution to Yoga.
- National Organization – Awarded to an Indian organization promoting Yoga.
- International Individual – Recognizes a foreign or Indian individual for Yoga promotion worldwide.
- International Organization – Honors a foreign or Indian organization contributing to Yoga globally.
An entity that has already received an award will not be eligible for the same category in the future. The Jury reserves the right to award one or more winners in each category or, in exceptional cases, may choose not to grant an award.
Awards and Felicitation
The winners of PM Yoga Awards 2025 will be announced on the 11th International Day of Yoga (June 21, 2025). The prestigious award includes:
- A Trophy
- A Certificate of Recognition
- A Cash Prize of ₹25 lakh (to be shared in case of joint winners)
- Recognition at the International Yoga Conference
Application and Eligibility
Nominations can be submitted directly by applicants or by prominent Yoga organizations on behalf of deserving candidates. The application process is conducted exclusively through the MyGov platform, with links available on the Ministry of Ayush’s website.
To qualify for the individual categories, applicants must be 40 years or older with a minimum of 20 years of outstanding service in Yoga promotion. The evaluation criteria focus on:
- Contribution to Yoga knowledge and research
- Efforts in spreading Yoga for mental, physical, and spiritual well-being
- Positive societal impact by strengthening ethical and spiritual values
