In a significant relief to aspirants, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the application deadline for Round 2 of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) under its pilot phase. Originally set to close on 31st March 2025, the deadline has now been pushed to 15th April 2025, allowing more time for eligible youth to apply for this promising initiative.
Announced during the Union Budget 2024, the Prime Minister Internship Scheme is a flagship program designed to offer 1 crore internship opportunities over the next five years, aimed at empowering young Indians with industry experience and skill development.
Key Highlights Of PMIS
Internship Duration: 12 months
Monthly Stipend: ₹4,500 from the Government of India and ₹500 from companies through their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives
One-Time Grant: ₹6,000 for incidentals upon successful enrollment
Insurance Coverage: All interns will be covered under both PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Age: Between 21 to 24 years
Educational Qualification: Minimum 10th class pass
Employment Status: Must not be engaged in full-time employment
Income Limit: Family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum
Exclusions: Candidates from premier institutes like IITs, IIMs, and those with professional qualifications like CA are not eligible
Government Employees: Families with government employees are not eligible
APPLICATION DETAILS
No Application Fee, On submission of the application, an auto-generated resume will be created for each candidate. Applicants can apply for a maximum of five internship opportunities based on their interest and eligibility.
